fans of the oceans franchise have a new project to look forward to, and this time it’s a Ocean’s Eleven prequel film, which is set to be directed by Jay Roach. A few months ago, THR shed light on reports of an attempt by Warner Bros. Discovery to reinvigorate the franchise with a new film. The news of Margot Robbie being part of the effort comes as no surprise, but what pleasantly brought people back was the reported addition of Ryan Gosling into the mix. It looks like the two are planning to get together again.

As we all know by now, the two actors are set to appear in the highly anticipated and talked about Barbie, a Film directed by Greta Gerwig. The duo have been widely enjoyed by many, even before the 2023 film was released. To see the two involved in the Ocean’s Eleven prequel is a delight for movie connoisseurs.

As for upcoming projects from Warner Bros. Discovery President and CEO David Zaslav has made it clear that the studio wants to focus on movies that have a surefire guarantee of making millions at the box office. It is therefore not surprising that they are developing a precursor to Ocean’s Eleventhe George Clooney star in 2001, which was itself a remake of the 1960 film Ocean 11 film. It became a film that launched a franchise like no other. one that has been critically acclaimed and has generated numerous commercial successes time and time again.

As for the prequel’s premise, which is written by Carrie Solomon and is set to feature the ultra-talented duo of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, not much is known yet. What little we do know points to how it will supposedly take place in Europe and set in the 60s. The plot may possibly relate to the original 1960 film. This prequel would mark the franchise’s fifth installment after the reboot from 2001.

It’s no surprise that Warner Bros. plans to move forward with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as favorites in the Ocean’s Eleven prequel. As shown in BTS images of their scenes from the upcoming Barbie movie, the two have great chemistry and from their portrayal of strong characters in previous movies, it’s obvious the duo are talented enough to pull it off. Since the prequel will apparently be a period film, it will be interesting to see Robbie and Gosling in the vast and exciting world of the oceans franchise.

Robbie’s performance in Me, Tonya, The Wolf of Wall Street, Bombshell, etc., amazed the world. During this time, the The Earth Star Ryan Gosling is known for his heartbreaking yet dynamic portrayal of characters. Everyone is intriguing as to what the two will bring to the table for the Jay Roach-directed prequel.
At present, fans of both are waiting for the release of Barbie scheduled for July 21, 2023.
