Does Marvel use humor as a base storyline?

After She-Hulk Episode 1 aired, fans shared mixed reviews of how the plot was put together. Some liked the pace, while others felt the foundation was way too rushed.

Overall experience was good with the first episode. But, Marvel is now very determined to use humor as a focal point.

We have seen how Thor: Love and Thunder became a disaster because of too much comedy. He had a very serious villain, Gorr The Butcher, but didn’t do him justice and played without direction.

We prayed that Marvel wouldn’t repeat this mistake with future shows and movies. But, from the first episode of She-Hulk, we saw a lot of humor from Smart Hulk, which defies the impression fans have of him.

The transition from Hulk to Smart Hulk

Bruce Banner found a way to defeat his alter ego and control the Hulk’s rage. With Smart Hulk, he is now a better version of both versions in him. But seeing the ferocious Hulk talk like a baby when his beach bar is destroyed in a friendly fight with Jennifer is something fans would question in the long run.

We all wanted Hulk to beat Thanos in Infinity War and End Game. But Russo Brothers had different plans. We didn’t see the Hulk in action after the spaceship fight alongside Thor and Loki.

In End Game we saw him fight but as Smart Hulk and a hand corroded by Infinity Stones. As a result, we literally missed the version of Hulk who showed hell to his enemies. Marvel didn’t give us enough Hulk in the movies when we wanted to take advantage of his rage and strength. And now it’s become a fun beacon in Marvel movies and series.

It’s not entirely justified to have such a big character sitting next to the screens in big movies and series.

She-Hulk episode 1 plot

Everyone may have already watched the episode and are aware of how Jennifer Walters became the She-Hulk. Following this, the whole sparring session between Smart Hulk and Jennifer made for comedic scenes.

The Hulk has been through so much to finally control himself, and to see him being treated like an average Avenger hurts the feelings of some Marvel fans. We hope Marvel picks up the pace and balances the humor with everything else to get back on their feet.
