The 39-year-old actor sat down with Den Of Geek and opened up about his character, who is heir apparent to the Iron Throne –

“I think it’s all about his brother, he’s deeply hurt, I think that’s where it all comes from. Otherwise, I think you’d be fed up with him being conceited and pernicious, you know what I’m means ?

“Don’t get me wrong, there’s a touch of that in there, but I think it’s all a result of his kind of attitude towards his brother on some level.”

Smith seems to know his character very well, and as the reviews show us, he’s definitely ruled as Daemon Targaryen.

Dragon House premieres tomorrow, August 21 on HBO Max.
