Why Inhumans Should Be In The MCU

Do you remember Black Bolt from Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness? He was part of the Illuminati on Earth-383. Her voice was her weapon, and Scarlet Witch used her chaos magic to erase her most powerful weapon into oblivion. She simply rewrote reality and defeated the Inhuman King. Once you know who the Inhumans are and how powerful Black Bolt really is, you’ll see things differently.

Inhumans

Who are the Inhumans?

The Inhumans are a race of genetically modified human beings who were experimented on by the Kree. They undergo a process known as Terrigenesis after which they develop their superpowers. The humans, fear in their eyes and hatred in their veins, attacked the Inhumans, leading to several turbulent years of constant conflict between them. One faction of Inhumans even moved to the moon while the others remained.

Eventually, the Inhumans settled in the city of Attilan. Attilan’s location has been changed several times over the years to deal with various threats and protect the Inhumans.

Terrigenesis

They can live for around 150 years. The Inhuman heritage and their rigorous training make them stronger, faster, and more durable than the strongest humans. Their only weakness is their immune system which is unable to defend itself against disease as they have mostly lived solitary lives away from the human population.

Why They Should Be In The MCU

Inhumans

The Inhumans have appeared onscreen in multiple seasons of Agents of SHIELD, but with its cancellation, its presence in the greater Marvel Multiverse has been a point of contention. Plus, there’s still a whole story waiting to be tapped into.

This would give the MCU a chance to explore several interesting superpowers and also imagine the Terrigenesis process. Black Bolt of course has the most powerful voice that can destroy cities with mere whispers. Medusa has prehensile hair, Karnak exploits people’s weaknesses, and Gorgon can essentially generate earthquakes with his bull-like paws and hooves. The city of Attilan and its technological advancements, if adapted to the big screen, would be a marvel to watch.

Although the Inhumans resemble the Mutants and the X-Men, they should be explored due to their long history and rich histories. Eventually, Mutants and Inhumans can even be pitted against each other, as has been done in the comics.

Who is Black Bolt?

Blackagar Boltagon was born to Agon and Rynda. He was exposed to the Terrigen Mist while still in his mother’s womb. Thus, he was born with immense powers that he could not fully control. Due to his ability to produce near-sonic energy that could destroy Attilan, he was kept in a soundproof room and given an energy-harvesting suit.

His powers are extreme even on the Inhuman scale. He manipulates and harnesses energy. He can also manipulate matter by rearranging molecules. Of course, there is his voice which can destroy cities and armies. Because of this, he remained mute all his life and learned to communicate non-verbally. He has also shown immense psychic resistance against the powers of his brother Maximus. He can catch Quicksilver with his speed, match the Hulk with his super strength, and also survive the detonation of the Terrigen Bomb with his superhuman durability.

Could Black Bolt have beaten Wanda?

Black Bolt’s near-sonic energy blasts

Yes absolutely. The version of Black Bolt shown in Multiverse of Madness looked pretty silly. A man who was mute for most of his life and spent his childhood mastering his abilities wouldn’t freak out and speak when his mouth was gone. In fact, Black Bolt was to be the first member of The Illuminati go. Had he stayed there would have been devastating consequences and Wanda would have barely survived. Black Bolt is also very intelligent having been the king of the Inhumans. He stunned Galactus and Thanos with his voice. His screams are even powerful enough to rip holes in the very fabric of reality. As mentioned earlier, her real superpower is her restraint. Even the slightest sound, whisper, breath can cause unparalleled destruction.

So the fight between Wanda and Black Bolt would not have been as unbalanced as shown. Wanda would certainly have put up a great fight with her chaos magic and Black Bolt would have gone hand in hand with her. I couldn’t tell you who would win but it would be the most epic fight ever. We demand revenge!
