Will Smith reportedly got his Netflix biopic back which was put on hold after the whole Oscars slap fiasco. The events following the 2022 Oscars had a major impact on Will Smith’s career and life. A number of his projects have been stalled, including some notable ones under the Netflix and Apple TV+ banners. Now, it looks like streaming platforms are reconsidering as it is reported that Netflix is planning to continue Smith’s life story and Apple TV+ may be following the same path as well.

What happened at the Oscars?
This year, the Oscars took a rather different turn when an enraged Will Smith took to the stage and slapped comedian Chris Rock hard in the face for a joke centered on Smith’s wife.

Although this incident was supported by some fans as a loving attitude towards his wife, much of the masses also criticized his action. When Chris Rock joked about Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair, Will Smith came on stage, slapped Rock, and came back yelling profanity.
Following this incident, Smith also took to his Instagram to post an apology video explaining the incident.

The King Richard The actor’s life came to a halt when his actions at the Oscars drew a lot of criticism and also affected his career. Now, according to sources, the streaming platforms that left Will Smith out in the cold are resuming negotiations:
“Will was left out of Netflix and Apple+ following the slap. He has since apologized and walked away from the spotlight for a long time,” a source told The Sun.
“It has been made clear that talks can resume on a biopic that Netflix is interested in,” the source added.
The source then went on to say that now Apple TV+ could also follow Netflix’s lead in bringing Smith back on board:
“It’s safe to say that the slap and the fallout are pivotal moments in Will’s life and will be part of his life story. Netflix wants to be a part of those conversations and Will’s team has no doubt that Apple will follow suit. .
Recently the Bad Boys the celeb also posted a sarcastic video on his social media account indicating that he was trying to get back on social media. The post was met with generally positive reviews and hopefully its return to theaters will be enjoyed by all.
