Promotional artwork featured on new merchandise for Spider-Man: Through the Spider-Verse offered a first look at Spider-Punk’s redesign for Marvel’s animated sequel.
Spider-Man: Through the Spider-Verse will pick up where 2018 Into the Spider-Verse stopped, finding Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy and Oscar Isaac’s Spider-Man 2099 joining a host of other Spider-People in a new multiversal adventure. The film will star Jason Schwartzman as the villainous The Spot.
Previous tie-in toys had confirmed that the anarchic Spider-Punk would be one of the new heroes joining Miles’ team this time around, but so far no images of the hero had been seen.

In the comics, Spider-Punk is Earth-138’s Hobie Brown (on Earth-616, Hobie was the original Prowler). This Spider-Man stood up to the state, fighting for freedom from the oppression wielded by its President of Earth, Norman Osborn.
Interestingly, the Through the Spider-Verse version of Spider-Punk sports a Union Jack badge, perhaps suggesting he’ll be British in the film, unlike his comic book counterpart. It’s also possible it’s a nod to the classic punk band, the Sex Pistols, whose album God Save the Queen featured the Union Jack on its cover.
Spider-Punk will join Scarlet Spider and Cyborg Spider-Woman in the Into the Spider-Verse sequel as they team up with Miles, Gwen and Miguel O’Hara – Oscar Isaac’s Spider-Man from 2099 – to take on the reality TV spot.
