HBO has released the first images of their upcoming television adaptation of the critically acclaimed video game series The last of uswith The Mandalorianit’s Pedro Pascal.
Along with the beginnings of Dragon HouseHBO has released a teaser for several of their new upcoming series, The last of us included. The games featured a smuggler called Joel, Pascal’s character in the series, tasked with transporting a young girl named Ellie across the post-apocalyptic United States.
Fans of the game have long been waiting for a preview of the HBO adaptation, so the reveal of Pedro Pascal’s Joel and Bella Ramsey’s Ellie was met with joy.
While the images of The last of us in HBO’s new teaser is brief enough to whet some appetites and get audiences excited for the Pedro Pascal series.

As well as revealing Pedro Pascal’s Joel and Bella Ramsey’s Ellie, these first images from HBO’s live-action rendition of The last of us offers a first look at fellow survivor Bill, played by Parks and recreation starring Nick Offerman. The teaser also confirms that the series will arrive next year.
There’s no sign of any of the game’s hordes of infected yet, but with clips of Pascal’s Joel teaching Ramsey’s Ellie how to use weapons – and a moment of intense chase scene – it’s clear. that the zombified enemies are not far away.
For fans of the game, or The Mandalorian fans who are eager to see more Pedro Pascal as a brutal anti-hero tasked with carrying a child who isn’t as helpless as he seems through a dangerous world, The last of us looks set to deliver big.
The original video game centers on the relationship between a smuggler named Joel and 14-year-old Ellie, with the latter possibly holding the key to curing the deadly pandemic that has resulted in the game’s post-apocalypse world. a quarantine zone, Joel finds himself depending on the teenager just as much as she relies on him as they fight to survive on their journey across the United States. The HBO adaptation will cover the events of the first game, with the second game potentially surviving as a base for additional content. The upcoming series is said to be one of the most expensive ever made, with each episode costing around $10 million with a total budget of around $200 million.
