David Corenswet, star of The politician and the new Netflix movie Look both waysstars as Jon Kent to replace Henry Cavill’s Superman for DC Films in a new concept.
Much like the Man of Steel himself, Superman’s future is up in the air right now. With Warner Bros. under new management and DC Films being overhauled, it’s unclear if Henry Cavill will return to play the superhero or if the company will take Krypton’s Last Son in a new direction.
A new image sees David Corenswet take up the mantle from Henry Cavill, not as Clark Kent, but as his son and Superman from the future, Jon Kent.
A concept design shared by the ‘savagecomics’ artist on Instagram shows David Corenswet, who can currently be seen in the new Netflix movie Look both waysemblazoned with the iconic Superman crest as he takes flight as Henry Cavill’s successor.

The DC Comic Event future state established Jon Kent as the new Superman, replacing his father Clark as Earth’s greatest protector. With DC Films now looking to move in a new direction, there may now be room to introduce new characters such as Jon Kent’s Superman.
Recently, it was revealed that The CW Superman and Lois is reportedly recasting Jon Kent’s own version of the series following the exit of actor Jordan Elsass. This iteration of the character was notably different from his comic book portrayal, having not inherited his father’s superpowers.
Recently, rumors swirled that DC was set to announce Henry Cavill’s return as Superman at San Diego Comic-Con. Sadly, however, that never happened, meaning questions about Henry Cavill’s potential return and Superman’s cinematic future remain. If DC is looking to recast the role, David Corenswet is definitely looking into the role.
Superman was last seen in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Here is the synopsis:
“In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure that Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice is not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns his forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an imminent threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must confront the demons of their own past to transcend what has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be coming too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their terrible intentions.”
Zack Snyder’s Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, JK Simmons and Ciarán Hinds.
Both versions of Justice League are available on HBO Max. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding the future of Superman and the DCEU, and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
