Warner Bros. will receive tax credits for Joker: Madness for twofilming the film in Los Angeles.
The first one Joker The film was a groundbreaking comic book film and resulted in multiple Oscars. An aspect of Joker what separated it from the rest of the crowded landscape of comic book movies was its grittiness, with New York masquerading as Gotham City playing a major role in delivering the darker tone.
The Joker is heading to LA
On Monday, the California Film Commission revealed that Joker: Madness for two will shoot in Los Angeles, with principal photography set to begin in December. It’s unclear if Los Angeles will impersonate Gotham City this time around. However, it wouldn’t be the first time Los Angeles has turned into Gotham City since it was done for Birds of prey.
Joker: Madness for two It’s rumored to take place in Arkham Asylum, so a lot of Gotham might not be as featured this time around. Warner Bros. will receive $12.6 million in principal photography tax credits for the Los Angeles sequel.

Director Todd Phillips’ “Joker” centers on the iconic nemesis and is an original, standalone fictional story never before seen on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck, who is indelibly played by Joaquin Phoenix, is that of a man struggling to find his way in Gotham’s fractured society. Clown for hire by day, he aspires to be a stand-up comedian by night…but finds the joke always seems to be on him. Caught in a cyclical existence between apathy and cruelty, Arthur makes a bad decision that causes a chain reaction of escalating events in this gritty character study.
