Edward Norton was fired from the Hulk?
Previously known as a Hollywood heavyweight, Edward Norton has starred in major films including Fight Club, American History X, Birdman, and much more. But the actor is also famous for being hard to work with, which has led to animosity in the industry and has starred in fewer films.

The actor faced similar issues while starring in the MCU The Incredible Hulk as the titular character. He reportedly had numerous altercations with Marvel’s Kevin Feige over the final cut of his film, which led to him getting fired. Although he denied the rumors, it is one of the most popular theories.
Mark Ruffalo goes green
After Edward Norton was fired, Mark Ruffalo was offered to play Hulk/Bruce Banner. Despite the great opportunity, the actor was reluctant to join and suggested many other actors as better suited for the role.

Some of the actors he has recommended include Joaquin Phoenix, Sean Penn and many more. He commented the same in an interview with BBC Radio 1:
“I tried to talk him out of the role and let you know that Joaquin is available now that Sean Penn is available, you know there’s a lot better than me for this role…”

Since his casting as the Hulk/Bruce Banner, Mark Ruffalo has starred in many other installments of MCU films, but hasn’t been in a standalone movie of his character. The actor last played the Hulk in Jessica Gao She-Hulk: Lawyer as a secondary character.
