The Infinity Saga, aka Phase 3 of the MCU, ended with End Game, and with it ended the original Avenger team. The first six are either dead, retired, or training new heroes. New heroes have appeared in Phase 4, but it’s no easy task to take the place of Captain America and Iron Man.
The multiverse saga opened the doors to many possibilities in the MCU, but it also unleashed Marvel’s next big villain – Kang The Conqueror. While we still have plenty of our Phase 3 superheroes (Dr. Strange, Captain Marvel, Ant Man, Spiderman) to save the multiverse, are any of the new or upcoming heroes strong enough to take on Kang? Let’s find out.
Adam Warlock
Even before it hit the big screen, Warlock created a lot of hype around its name, and rightly so. From the start, he was one of the strongest heroes in comics and stood against Thanos and Mephisto. With powers such as superhuman strength, teleportation, cosmic awareness, he is a formidable ally against Kang.
Shang Chi
We’ve already fallen in love with Simu Liu’s adaptation of the character and can’t wait to see him back on the big screen! Although he’s not strong enough to stop Kang on his own, with his father’s rings at his disposal, he could cause trouble for the Conqueror.
America Chávez
We haven’t had a chance to examine the full extent of her powers in the MCU yet, but in the source material she has an incredible set of abilities. Even if the movies decide to take out the rest of his powers, his ability to punch a hole and create a doorway to different universes is more than impressive and could be of great help against Kang.
moon knight
How can a guy who is an avatar of a literal God be excluded from this list? The duo (or trio if we include Steven) showed off some really interesting feats of power in the Disney+ show – from returning from the dead to controlling the skies.
Moon Knight has yet to realize the full extent of his powers in the cinematic universe, and the current relationship between Steven, Marc, and Khonshu isn’t at its best. However, if they find a way to put aside their differences and come to an agreement, Moon Knight could become a very powerful ally in the fight against Kang.
she hulk
In the very first episode of the Disney+ show, we saw that Jennifer wasn’t kidding. She is (almost) as strong and capable as her cousin. On top of that, she doesn’t have to fight an alter ego to maintain control as the Hulk, so she would be able to make smart decisions during a battle. So, in the event of a confrontation between She-Hulk and Kang, he will certainly regret having angered her.
Stone heart
Riri Williams, played by Dominique Thorne, is set to make her MCU debut later this year in the upcoming Black Panther movie. For those of you who don’t know her, she’s mostly a normal human, but she’s got a big brain and badass armor. She’s even smarter than Tony Stark! When Avengers: The Kang Dynasty comes out, Riri would be an established hero. Against an enemy like him, our heroes would need Riri’s wits more than her gadgets.
All of these heroes have awesome powers and abilities, but they’re not a team yet, and most of them are inexperienced. While they may not be able to replace the original six, it will be fun to watch them deal with one of the biggest threats to date in the MCU.
