In 2020, Disney announced another live-action reboot of one of its most successful films of all time, Hercules. The original animated film, released in 1997, was a hit for Disney. Just like his other animated films, Hercules also did great business for the studio.
Now that Disney has had live-action reboots of many movies, Hercules is next. Guy Ritchie is directing the film. Avengers: Endgame Directors Joe and Anthony Russo are producing the film under their production company AGBO. The screenwriter of films like Shangchi and the Legend of the Ten Rings also working on the film.

Fans want Danny DeVito to play Philoctetes in Hercules
Disney has yet to announce the film’s cast. However, there is one actor that fans don’t want to replace. Actor Danny DeVito, who voiced the character of Philoctetes in the original animation Herculesleft a strong impression on viewers.
Now that Disney has announced a live-action reboot of Hercules, fans are asking for the actors to be in the movie.
Danny DeVito also said something about his appearance in the move. During Wired’s last autocomplete interview, DaVito came across a question, “Will Danny Davito be in Hercules Live? ”
Seeing the question posed by the actor, “I am the live Hercules.” He added: “What are you talking about? Philoctetes. If they don’t put me in there, they don’t have a hair on their ass.
Danny Devito’s Second Appearance in Disney Live-Action Movies
Movie producers have yet to announce the film’s cast, but Danny DeVito would be a great choice to play his original character in Hercules. The actor is well known for his role in films like Taxi, it’s always sunny in Philadelphia, Batman is coming back, and more. For the rest of the cast of Herculesfans have imagined their fan cast, but nothing is confirmed as of yet.
If Danny DeVito gets the role of Philoctetes in the original film, it would be his second appearance in Disney live-action movies. Earlier he appeared in Disney’s 2019 Dumbo. He played the role of Maximillian, the owner of the Medici Brothers circus, based on the original film’s ringmaster.
Will Disney bring back some of the original cast?
Disney, however, did not choose actors from their original films to play the same character. The only case of such an event so far is that of Frank Walker and James Earl Jones.
The two actors returned to play their roles in the live-action Aladdin and The Lion King. Walker voiced the character of Abu, the monkey from Aladdin, and Jones voiced the character of Mufasa.
Disney may not have announced their cast yet, fans have released their cast who would they like in the movie. Fans speculated that Tom Holland would most likely play Hercules.
The rest of the film’s fan cast is Ariana Grande as Megara, John Hamm as Hades, Marc Maron as Phil, Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig as Pain and Panic, Vanessa Williams as Calliope, Lizzo as Thalia, and Dwayne Johnson as Zeus.

What new items will Hercules Reboot have?
Talk about the story and what the film will depict. It will follow the same story as the original film. However, producers Anthony and Joe Russo said the film was inspired by the original film but would have a modern twist and some new elements.
The plot will probably revolve around Hercules, half-mortal and half-god, who must go through many trials to become worthy to live as a god in Athens. It is also expected that some of the originals Hercules the songs will be included in the live adaptation.
Prior to this live-action adaptation, a sequel to the original 1997 film was planned for 2006. It was meant to follow the events of the first film. Hercules would live in Athens with his wife and daughter.
But when his old friend gets kidnapped Hercules goes on a quest to save him with the help of the Greek gods. The film was later cancelled.
There have been no release date details for the film, but if production gets underway soon, the film could be released by August 2023. Disney also hasn’t confirmed if that will be the theatrical release or if it would air on Disney+.
