Youth, education and early career
Tyler grew up in Saskatoon and spent most of his youth there, during which time he became very interested in professional wrestling, although he only considered it a career after completing his secondary studies. He attended Walter Murray Collegiate Institute and soon after began his wrestling quest, traveling to Calgary to look for schools to teach him. He began training with several well-known names across the country, including Stu Hart, Red Bastien and Mando Guerrero.
In 1986, he made his professional wrestling debut in Canada as Skywalker Nitron. The following year he wrestled in South Africa, and the opportunity proved fruitful as it led to him being hired by British company Joint Promotions. He wrestled with them for a year, then was asked to tour for New Japan Pro Wrestling, in which he adopted the name Gully Gaspar. He worked in a trio alongside Barry and Billy, all three having pirate gadgets and identified by wearing hockey masks. Retreat from wrestling
While Mane didn’t have much of a WCW presence, he was known for being the bodyguard in Woman and Doom in 1989, appearing in Starrcade 1989. After his work there, he returned to Japan to tour with All Japan Pro Wrestling, in which he was part of the World’s Strongest Tag Determination League, an annual tag team tournament held by the promotion. He then moved to wrestle in Puerto Rico, before settling in Mexico where he had a contract with the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libra.
In 1993, he finally got his contract with WCW, taking the name Big Sky and settling on a tag team with Vinnie Vegas; Vegas would later move to the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) under the name Diesel and leave him behind.
Because of this, he was lost in the shuffle and started wrestling on the independent scene again. One of his last promotions was in the Universal Wrestling Federation in which he won a championship. After the promotion disbanded, he decided to quit wrestling altogether, as he could never really find the right opportunities to make him a star.
Acting career
One of Tyler’s reasons for leaving professional wrestling was to act, as he had his first opportunity in Mexico, appearing as the villain of the local movie “Luchadores de las Estrellas.”
Since he had no opportunities with WCW, he focused on auditioning and appeared on the show “Smokey and the Bandit”. After his retirement, he became much more important in his acting work, first gaining attention for his portrayal of the Marvel Comics character Sabretooth in the 2000 film “X-Men”, and starring an ensemble cast, earning positive reviews. thanks to its accurate depiction of the beloved franchise.

To prepare for the role, he watched all the previous “Halloween” movies, taking note of the character’s personality and actions. With the role, he became the tallest man to portray Myers, later appearing in “Halloween 2”, becoming the only actor to play him in sequel films and in more than one film.
He eventually started his own production company in 2013, with the help of his wife Leslie Easterbrook – Mane Entertainment started making films, starting with the supernatural horror/thriller “Compound Fracture”.
He then worked on the independent feature film “Abnormal Attraction”, in which he played a leading role alongside his wife and Malcolm McDowell. Private life
Tyler married Jean Goertz in 1988 and they dated for 15 years before divorcing for publicly unknown reasons. A few years later, he met and began a relationship with actress Renae Geerlings, known for starring with him in “Halloween II” and “Compound Fracture”. They married in 2007; they have no children.
