‘Shazam! Fury Of The Gods’ Director Responds To Film’s Delay

Shazam! Fury of the gods director David F. Sandberg has responded to the film’s latest delay.

The release date of Shazam! Fury of the gods has been through quite a long odyssey. Originally, the film was to be released after the flash but has been pushed back to December 2022 because both the flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom have been delayed. Unfortunately, the film was delayed again, which was apparently due to Warner Bros. Discovery not being able to market the film this year. However, director David F Sandberg remains enthusiastic about it.

Shazam! Fury of the gods‘ original release date had the film clash with Avatar: The Way of the Water. The director didn’t expect the movie to be able to compete with the film and sees the delay as a good thing. This will allow the Shazam sequel to see on as many big screens as possible even though the film will be fully wrapped in just a few weeks. Additionally, he also commented that it was still three months earlier than his first release date:

Here is the synopsis of the first Shazam! film:

We all have a superhero inside of us, all it takes is a little magic to bring it out. In the case of Billy Batson (Angel), shouting a single word – SHAZAM! – this 14-year-old foster child can transform into the adult superhero Shazam (Levi), thanks to an ancient wizard. Still a child at heart – inside a ripped, divine body – Shazam revels in this grown-up version of himself by doing what any teenager would do with superpowers: have fun with it. them ! Can he fly? Does he have x-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning from his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he will have to master these powers quickly.

Directed by David F. Sandberg from a screenplay written by Henry Gayden and Chris Morgan, Shazam! Fury of the gods stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Adam Brody, Ross Butler, Meagan Good, DJ Cotrona, Grace Caroline Currey, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Marta Millans, Cooper Andrews, Djimon Hounsou, Rachel Zegler, Lucy Liu , and Helen Mirren.

Shazam! Fury of the gods opens March 17, 2023. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming film and be sure to subscribe to the Heroic Hollywood YouTube channel for more original video content.
