In the opening minutes of Episode 3, Jennifer Walters turns to the camera and talks to viewers. As you already saw in the Episode 3 preview, we’ll get to see a cameo from Wong.
Suddenly, she tells us that no, her series is not made from cameos. But, then she remembers Bruce Banner, Emil Blonsky and now Wong. But then she tells the audience to remember who this show is actually about. And then we see the logo and the opening credits of ‘She-Hulk’.
That’s it! This post isn’t going to talk more about She-Hulk from here. Everything from here will tell you why Jennifer said that. What does she mean by saying, “Just remember who is what it really is.”
Cameos Have Undershadowed Star Castings In Many MCU Movies
In past MCU movies, we’ve seen plenty of situations where cameos have taken over the script from the star actors. Iron Man was one of many MCU characters whose glimpse was enough to raise the bar for MCU movies.
We have witnessed in Spider Man: Homecoming, Captain America: Civil War and The Incredible Hulk. And almost every other movie has some discussion or storyline around Stark Industries and Tony Stark’s tech gadgets.
Think of the whole story of Spider-Man: Far From Home. If Tony Stark hadn’t fired Quinten Beck, he wouldn’t have become the big bad in this movie by hiring the fired employees of Stark Industry.
Keeping that aside, imagine what the film would have been like Spider-Man: No Coming Home, if they hadn’t brought in Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire. The film’s story would not have been enjoyed without these two strong characters initiating the multiverse.
Therefore, it’s clear that MCU has proven that cameo characters are of utmost importance when selecting films. And that’s what got Jennifer talking about cameos. She wanted us to focus on her words when she said, “Just remember, that shows it really is!”
