New Poster For Star Wars Series Features Saw Gerrera & Mon Mothma

A new poster for the next Disney Plus star wars series Andor presents a collection of A thug characters, including Forest Whitaker’s Saw Gerrera and Genevieve O’Reilly’s Mon Mothma.

Andor serves as a prequel to A thugthe story of the spies who captured the plans for the Empire’s first Death Star, delivering them to the Rebel Alliance just before the events of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The series will explore the origins of Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor.

A recently released poster for the series features both rebel extremist Saw Gerrera and Rebel Alliance leader Mon Mothma.

Andor takes place when the Empire is at its peak and the Rebellion has yet to win its first major victory against the Imperial forces.

Andor will show Genevieve O’Reilly’s Mon Mothma while still serving in the Imperial Senate, before she enlisted to fight the Empire militarily. Forest Whitaker’s Saw Gerrera, originally introduced in the animation Star Wars: The Clone Wars (voiced by Andrew Kishino), is an extremist rebel who has long fought the Empire by any means necessary.

The first season of Andor takes place five years before the events of A thug. The second season, which has already been confirmed by Lucasfilm, will span the remaining four years until Cassian Andor joins the Death Star mission seen in A thug.

Here is the synopsis of Andor:

“The ‘Andor’ series will explore a new perspective on the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series tells the story of the budding rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets got involved It is a time filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

Andor stars Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller and Genevieve O’Reilly. Tony Gilroy, Dan Gilroy, Stephen Schiff and Beau Willimon were the authors of the star wars series while Toby Haynes, Susanna White and Benjamin Caron directed the episodes.
