Wong returns to the MCU in She-Hulk: LawyerThe third episode of “The People vs. Emil Blonsky” and his hilarious work history is revealed.
Benedict Wong’s Wong is the current Sorcerer Supreme in the MCU, who must be pretty impressive on a resume. Before that, he was already a powerful wizard and the librarian of Kamar-Taj, responsible for keeping various mystical volumes.
However, She-Hulk Episode 3 offers a glimpse into Wong’s work history and before he became Kamar-Taj’s librarian, he had a bit more mundane job.
She-Hulk Episode 3 opens with Tim Roth’s Emil Blonsky revealing that it was Wong who previously freed him from prison. Jennifer Walters by Tatiana Maslany then sets off in search of the Sorcerer Supreme.
Jen’s paralegal, Nikki Ramos (Ginger Gonzaga), searches for Wong, finds him on social media, and takes a look at his work history. His roles as Sorcerer Supreme and Librarian are listed there, but so is his former job as a Target sales associate.
Apparently Kamar-Taj has a target, as that’s the location that’s listed under that entry on Wong’s profile. The moment is blinking and you will miss it in She-HulkWong’s latest episode reveals that Wong spent 9 years in this role before seemingly finding a new direction in life and becoming a wizard. Although, given that Wong was working at the Kamar-Taj target, it’s also possible that this job was funding his early sorcery studies.
This funny moment is the latest example of She-Hulkis more comedic on the MCU. The series looks beyond the epic battles seen in the movies and into the daily lives of Marvel superheroes and villains.
