Aladdin actor Mena Massoud has responded to news regarding the casting of Ezra Bridger, after being suspected of being wanted for the Ahsoka series.
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…. A rumor has swirled that Mena Massoud, who had a breakthrough role as the titular star in Disney’s live-action remake of Aladdin, was in sight to play Ezra Bridger in the next star wars Disney Plus Series, Ahsoka. This would be the character’s live-action debut, who first appeared in the animated series. Star Wars Rebels.
Yesterday it was revealed that actor Eman Esfandi will play Ezra Bridger in Ahsoka. The news surprised some fans, especially given rumors that Mena Massoud would move from Aladdin and jump into one of the other Disney properties such as star wars.
In response to the news, Mena Massoud clarified Ezra Bridger’s casting rumours, while also wishing Eman Esfandi the best of luck in the Ahsoka series. He tweeted the following:

“The ‘Andor’ series will explore a new perspective on the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series tells the story of the budding rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets got involved It is a time filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.
Andor stars Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller and Genevieve O’Reilly. Tony Gilroy, Dan Gilroy, Stephen Schiff and Beau Willimon were the authors of the star wars series while Toby Haynes, Susanna White and Benjamin Caron directed the episodes.
