To the unsuspecting public, black adam is simply another notch on the DCEU belt. But for those who mourned the loss of the SnyderVerse, The Rock’s film holds promise. The DC Extended Universe has gained an exponentially multiplied fandom since Zack Snyder launched Steel man in 2013. The SnyderVerse trilogy that then unfolded over the next 8 years came out kicking and screaming. But now that black adam is here, maybe there is still hope for those who are still waiting for the cinematography of the SnyderVerse.

The promises to be kept by The Rock’s black adam
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is rarely one to talk and walk. It always delivers – which is probably why despite its oversaturated action sagas it manages to be such a crowd puller. Ultimately, her dominating screen presence promises to pay off with her first major solo DC superhero film, Black Adam. As the premiere date draws near, the movie has already dropped all of its trailers and on the face of it, The Rock wasn’t lying when he said it would change the hierarchy of the DC Universe.

The Rock also teased fans saying, “I hear you” when the uproar around Henry Cavill’s return was at its peak. Whether that’s a response meant to appease fans with a blurry, faceless Superman cameo or if it actually means something more remains to be seen. black adam will truly do a miracle if The Rock brings Cavill back to the DCEU, but if not, the next best thing the movie could do is restore a fraction of what the SnyderVerse brought to the big screens.

The final trailer for WB’s upcoming release challenged what we already knew about The Rock’s ability to emit emotion through his eyebrow. He hogs the limelight in the majority of the trailer, and the rest serves to introduce the Justice Society of America. However, what sets the final trailer apart from the others is the resurrection scene of the ancient divine power portrayed by Dwayne Johnson.

As expected, the first intervention team on site unleashes its storm of bullets and our anti-hero is not impressed by the “magic” of this world which seems “weak” to him. And it keeps knocking them out of the screen frame in seconds. The cinematography here invokes the darker, darker setting that Zack Snyder once managed to make his audience fall in love with.
The action of Man of Steel was breathtaking. I haven’t seen anything like it.

there’s something about the combination of their capes that move as they move and their punches that just makes me love this style 🔥

If The Rock’s enigmatic promise — “I hear you” – was actually a subtle way of reminding us that the DCEU isn’t lost yet, so the trailer did its job well. Maybe we won’t get Cavill, but we might find that Warner Bros. has the power to pull off a SnyderVerse action pattern in their future movies. And if so, the possibility of the long-awaited return of the director who introduced it all might not be long to consider.
