Fresh off of D23, we have more official cast members revealed from the long-awaited Star Wars: Acolyte series that was announced in 2020, without many details about the series and only that it would be a Sith-centric origin storyset a decade before the events of A Phantom Menace, which will bring back the Golden Age of the Jedi and show the rise of the Sith Empire.
Casting announcement
In the latest D23 buzz, we received an official announcement regarding the male lead in Star Wars: Acolyte. Squid Games star Lee Jung-Jae stars as the series’ male lead.
Lee Jung-Jae will star opposite Hunger Games star Amandla Stenberg, who is the series protagonist. Along with them, we also have a rumored cast addition of Jodie Turner-Smith who is all but confirmed to be cast in the season and is in talks regarding her role in the Disney+ series.
The series, which was announced in 2020, seems to finally be happening with all these new updates, although the release date has yet to be notified, fans seem quite happy with the casting announcements as it includes great names on the list, and the hype for the series also gradually increased.
Star Wars: Acolyte will feature more political themesmixing them with an origin story of an Empire, and it was also revealed a while ago that the show was inspired by the portrayal of mandalorian.
