‘War Is On’: Loki’s Season 2 Trailer Hints A New Time War Is About To Tear The Multiverse To Shreds

With revealing first glimpses of its several movies and shows, Marvel has everyone talking about all the upcoming shows and movies under the MCU. Of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania at Love at first sight, it included all of Phase 5 of the MCU. Marvel also revealed official images from one of the most anticipated shows, Loki Season 2. Kevin Feige welcomed the cast on stage, including a new member, All everywhere all at once starring Ke Huy Quan.

It’s been over a year since Tom Hiddleston with Loki ended Season 1. Season 1 ends with Sylvie killing Kand the Conqueror and Loki returning to TVA. The show was a hit, and it didn’t take long for Marvel to announce Loki Season 2.

Ke Huy Quan joins the cast of Loki season 2

Tom Hiddleston has already confirmed that cast members from the series will return for the series, including Sophie Di Martino as Sylvie, Owen Wilson as Mobius, and Jonathan Majors as Knag.

But with new footage revealed at D23 Expo, Marvel also introduced a new cast member to the series. Ke Huy Quan, who is currently in talks for her role in another multiverse movie, All everywhere all at oncealso joins the show.

Ke Huy Quan Joins Loki Season 2

Marvel has unveiled exclusive images of Loki Season 2 at the D23 exhibition. Before revealing the footage, Kevin Feige and Tom Hiddleston talk about when and how the show will fit into the MCU. Whereupon Tom Hiddleston says the show will continue exactly where it left off in the first season. Kevin Feige also mentioned that season 2 will tie the show into the multiverse saga.

The footage shows Loki being sucked back in time. In the background, he says, “I saw terrible, horrible things.” The next scene shows Loki hitting a wall with a staff, which reveals an alternate timeline with an entire wall covered in Kang decorations.

After that, Loki says, “War is on” and the next scene shows the characters in suits, space suits and tuxedos.

Official Loki Season 2 Clip Revealed at D23 Expo

The clip also shows Loki walking down the hall where he meets Ke Huy Quan’s character, who is an archivist at TVA. One scene shows Sylvie listening to records in a music store, and another shows Loki and Mobius at a Hollywood premiere.

Another scene shows Loki speaking to Mobius saying: “I don’t want you to think I’m the bad guy in all of this” to which Mobius responds, “Who said you were?”

The trailer appears to be the setup of the Avengers: Kang Dynasty. Not only Loki Season 2, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania also revealed its villain, which is none other than Kang himself. These clips indicate that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania and Loki Season 2 will set up the story of the Avengers: Kang Dynasty.

Loki Season 2 Setting Up Avengers: Kang Dynasty

In the footage, Loki says “The war is onwhich could be a warning of what will happen in the Avengers: Kang Dynasty. He will also be the main antagonist of Loki Season 2. At the end of the first season, Loki attempts to stop Sylvie from killing the One Who Remains after telling them that killing him will unleash his more evil variants.

But Sylvie ends up killing him. Loki Season 2 can follow the outcome of what Sylvie did in Season 1 and Loki trying to warn everyone about the threats to come. No details regarding what happens to Sylvie and Loki’s relationship and how the show will lay the groundwork for are yet to be revealed. Avengers: Kang Dynasty

Loki Season 2 doesn’t yet have an official release date, though it’s slated for release in summer 2023 on Disney+.
