Namor’s cultural significance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Namor is one of the most important characters in Marvel Comics. He is one of the oldest characters and his debut in the MCU has been the subject of anticipation for many days. When it was announced that he would be stepping foot in the MCU, the news was quickly received with DC’s Aquaman comparisons. But the MCU also used some clever moves and made some unique changes to Namor’s character.

The very first move the MCU has made, which may turn out to be a major draw, is the origin shift from Atlantis to the true Aztec-based civilization, Talocan. It can be a major hit or miss for the MCU because it’s all based on real things. While some fans have already complained about the studio’s change of origin, it can also establish a good connection with fans if executed well. Mainly because of its existing meaning in the real world.
