The Truth Behind Marvel’s MCU Diversity Push
So far, MCU has featured Miles Morales, Kamla Khan, Shang Chi, and Black Panther. Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was the first film in terms of diversity and inclusion. It was also the first film that had many dialogues in a foreign language. The next edition in service of diversity in the MCU was The Eternalswhich also featured a diverse cast.
This would continue with upcoming Marvel movies including Marvels, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Ironheart.

According to a recent report, an insider claimed that Marvel’s MCU diversity push isn’t what the studio claims it is. The report claims that the studio is simply trying to recover the loss caused by its sales in China.
The insider claimed that sales in China were going less spectacularly than expected. He even claimed that the brand was almost dead in China.

The insider also said it’s the same thing that happened with Star Wars. He said, “It’s a vicious loop. it all boils down to two big factors, China and ego.
The insider said all Marvel is doing and planning to do is form a market with a new audience. He said it started after Black Pantherthat they decided to put everything in this representation to compensate for the loss of China.
Further explaining the use of the word “diversity” in their post, the insider said it doesn’t mean what people think it is. He said, “It’s not races, religions and disabilities. Diversity equals representation.

Anthony Mackie Talks Trouble With MCU Diversity Push
After the release of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, actor Anthony Mackie spoke about the issue of the MCU diversity push with Variety. The actor said he’s worked on multiple Marvel movies, where every producer, every director, every stuntman, every costume designer, every PA, every person was white.

Pointing out the flaws of the MCU, he further mentioned how everyone involved was black for Black Panther. He said, “And I figure that’s more racist than anything. Because if you can only hire black people for the Black movie, are you saying they’re not good enough when you have a predominantly white cast?
Marvel hasn’t said anything about this claim so far. The next MCU movie will be Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which will be released on November 11, 2022.
