Born March 2, 1973 in Dulwich, England, he grew up in Manchester. He became the club’s youngest player when he made his debut for Blackpool in 1989. He scored 15 goals in 112 league games for Seasiders before joining Queen Park Rangers.
Premier League debut with Queen Park Rangers
1993 saw Trevor’s transfer to Queens Park Rangers (QPR) for a record fee of £600,000, the highest sum Blackpool had ever paid for a player. He played 168 times in the league and scored 16 goals while spending five years with QPR.
Additionally, Sinclair was voted Premier League Player of the Month in October 1995, but that was not enough to save QPR from being kicked out of the league that season.
Joined Manchester City in 2003
After almost five seasons at West Ham, Sinclair was bought by Manchester City in 2003. But that was before Arab money, so Manchester City were no better than an average mid-table club at that time.
As he played for the England national team in the 2002 FIFA World Cup, he started his career at Manchester City, playing on the left flank. However, once Shaun Wright-Phillips left, Sinclair was allowed to play on the right flank, which was his preferred position. After poor form, he was released by the club in 2007.
Career after play, coach and pundit
Sinclair served as assistant manager for Lancaster City during his brief coaching career. He entered the game as a substitute in the second half of a 3-1 league loss to Clitheroe on 25 August 2014. He later ventured into the media as a football pundit and has worked for the BBC and Talksport.
