Marvel’s Most Graphic Comic Deaths We’ll Never See In The MCU

Fourteen years, countless movies, and numerous TV shows in the MCU, and it’s fair to say that the tone of the MCU is generally lighthearted and eschews the dark sensibilities that some corners of Marvel Comics have ventured into.

Whether it’s because of the tone of the MCU, or the fact that certain characters haven’t been introduced yet, or have been introduced but are gone, there are storylines and more specifically deaths that we’ll never see on the big screen. screen.

Thanos crushes Sam Wilson’s head

Thanos flattens Sam Wilson’s head

At the end of Jeff Lemire’s run on Thanos, Thanos ventures into a false reality where he is a hero and part of the Avengers. In an effort to meet the challenge set before him in his quest to earn a grand godly career reward, he spends time in this false reality, rescuing people and fighting off the usual Avengers-level threats, before realizing that everything is wrong. Coming to his senses, he turns against his former compatriots, the worst of his victims being Sam Wilson’s Captain America, whose head is completely crushed in Thanos’ enormous hands.

Spider-Man eats his family

wonder
The closest Peter Parker to his family.

One of the most shocking parts of Marvel Zombies – which in itself is an impressive feat – Spider-Man is bitten and overwhelmed by the “hunger” that all zombies suffer from. In an attempt to say goodbye to both Mary Jane and Aunt May, he returns to his apartment, finds the two there, trying to stay safe from the madness outside. The Hunger sets in and readers can see all the visceral details as Peter Parker consumes the two people closest to him.

The Punisher Steamrolls Logan

wonder
Frank doesn’t work well with others…

Garth Ennis wrote The Punisher Max series, which took an already graphic, unrestricted character and expanded it to eleven. Most fans enjoy this incarnation of the character, finding her mostly true to character, if unnecessarily over the top at times. One of those times was in Punisher #17 when Logan shows up to help The Punisher in his attempt to chase down the mob. Frank prefers to work alone, and to drive the point home, he shoots Logan in his testicles before crushing him with a steamroller. Sure, that doesn’t kill Logan, but it doesn’t put Frank at the top of his Christmas card list.

Dormammu strangles Dr. Strange

wonder
No time loop can save him this time…

One of Dr. Strange’s main enemies, Dormammu and Strange have fought many times over the years. In our first entry of the poor “Ultimatum” event set in a supposedly more grounded and realistic universe, Dormammu uses Strange’s cape to wrap tightly around his body, with enough pressure and tightness that his head pops off. .

The blob eats the wasp, Giant-Man bites off the blob’s head

wonder
Janet’s true courage

Another entry, another “Ultimatum” death scene that’s both gruesome and disgusting. The Blob encounters Wasp during the event and proceeds to eat Janet. With his guts still sticking out of his mouth in a visceral, crude scene, Hank shows up looking for Janet. Understandably appalled and enraged by the sight in front of him, he transforms into Giant-Man, grabs The Blob, and mercilessly bites his head off in revenge.

Hulk beats Herr Kleiser to a pulp, eats the leftovers, then does the whole poo

wonder
Mr Kleiser

Herr Kleiser is the main villain of “The Ultimates 2”, the second team in the down-to-earth and realistic reality that Marvel started in the early 2000s. After defeating Iron Man, Nick Fury and even improving Captain America in melee, the team launched their Hulk nukes at the villain. The Hulk was quick to pulverize Herr Kleiser, picking up the man’s now dead remains from the floor and eating them, before later having to pass them over so they could be analyzed by some SHIELD techs.

The Thing used its strength to crush Doctor Doom’s head

wonder
Doom no more.

Last of the ‘Ultimatum’ entries, and is probably the most surprising and out of character. After Doom kills Scarlet Witch, setting off a chain of events that results in the deaths of millions, including the rest of the Fantastic Four, Ben Grimm takes it upon himself to be judge, jury, and executioner on Doom. Grabbing his head in his huge boulder-like hands and simply squeezing, he kills Doom and prevents any future plans from happening. It’s generally not a killer, even in the dark and graphic universe the story is set in, it was a shocking twist for fans to swallow in a book that was widely hated anyway.

God Emperor Doom Shows Thanos His True Power

wonder
Doom vs Thanos only has one winner here…

Jonathan Hickman’s 2015 Secret Wars is considered one of the best modern crossover events in Marvel comics, and for good reason. Taking inspiration from the comic of the same name in the ’80s, Hickman brought his own ideas to the table and ramped up the consequences and the stakes to a point where fans were genuinely worried about their favorite characters going forward.

Having been instrumental in destroying the Beyonders, Doom absorbs their powers and creates a puzzle-like world from the remains of all the universes destroyed during the event, called Battleworld. Now, with powers far above any other remaining individual, the story shifts from saving the multiverse to bringing down the now omnipotent God Emperor Doom. Thanos is one of many characters involved in this fight, but not for very long, at least not face to face. Few have beaten Thanos over the years, and none so easily, but in a flash, Thanos goes from defying Doom to being a skeleton in his hands.
