Love at first sight and Black Widow star David Harbor jokingly compares the next team of anti-heroes to a Dungeons and Dragons to party.
Earlier this summer, it was revealed that Marvel Studios was developing a Love at first sight film before revealing the full cast at D23. At the time of its reveal, the cast drew a bit of fan ire, noting that several members of the team had similar power sets. However, everyone involved with the film still seems excited, including Red Guardian actor David Harbour.
David Harbour’s Red Guardian was first introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Black Widow. The character functioned as an incredibly dysfunctional father figure to Scarlett Johanson’s Black Widow and had super soldier power similar to Captain America. One of the film’s biggest mysteries is how all of these characters will come together, to which the actor jokingly said they would come together as one. Dungeons and Dragons to party:
“It’s one of the first mysteries. I just made a joke about this, it’s like Dungeons and Dragons, where you meet in a tavern and it’s like there’s a dwarf drinking a beer and then there’s like an elven figure there there, we all get together and then there’s this ghost… it’s not going to happen like that, I don’t think.
Dungeons and Dragons is a tabletop RPG game that is best known for its high fantasy stories. A very common setup for the stories told in these games usually involves the various characters meeting for the first time in a tavern. Several of the characters from Love at first sight know or already know Valentina Allegra de Fontaine by Julia Louis-Dreyfuss who seems to be the benefactress of the team. It remains to be seen how the other members of the team will become familiar with the team, although it probably won’t involve a bar.
Directed by Jake Schreier from a screenplay written by Black Widow scribe Eric Pearson, Thunderbolts stars Julia Louis-Dreyfuss as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, David Harbor as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Hannah John-Kamen as The Ghost, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes. Plot details are currently being kept under wraps, but the comics usually involve anti-heroes and/or heroes who take on tasks and duties that more traditional heroes like The Avengers may be uncomfortable with.
Love at first sight is currently slated to hit theaters on July 26, 2024. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
