A comic related to the upcoming DCEU movie the flash reveals that a certain member of the JSA is the canon of the franchise.
Many DCEU fans have their eyes glued to what Warner Bros. Discovery has planned for the future, especially following the cancellation of bat girl, as well as numerous delays for films such as Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and The flash. Over the past few months, headlines related to Andy Muschietti’s upcoming film have been mired in negativity due to the erratic behavior of the film’s star, Ezra Miller. Since then, Miller has filed for a pardon and reportedly met with Warner Bros. to discuss their issues and confirm their commitment to the upcoming film.
With the flash Still set to hit theaters next summer, promotional material is on the way, including a tie-in comic that has confirmed the existence of a member of the JSA that exists in the DCEU canon.
In Flash: World’s fastest man #1, Barry Allen is shown with a book in hand, titled Ted Grant’s Guide to Boxing. Ted Grant is also known as Wildcat, is associated with the JSA, and is also Black Canary’s mentor. With the existence of Ted Grant in the DCEU, as well as the introduction of the aforementioned superhero team for black adam, it’s safe to say that there may be big plans for them beyond the next Dwayne Johnson movie.
Directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay written by Birds of prey scribe Christina Hodson, the flash is inspired by Breaking point comic book storyline, which followed Barry Allen as he navigated a modified DCEU. Written by Geoff Johns and drawn by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint dramatically changed the status of the DC Comics Universe and led to the launch of all 52 new titles.
Besides Ezra Miller, the flash also features Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as two distinct versions of Batman, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora-Ul, and Sasha Calle as Supergirl. Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso and Luke Brandon Field are also on board in undisclosed roles.
