Peacemaker Series creator James Gunn lets fans know when they should expect Season 2 to begin production.
In January, HBO Max debuted Peacemaker, the first original television series set in the DC Extended Universe canon. Created by James Gunn, it was a spin-off sequel to his film The Suicide Squad featuring John Cena as the main character. The series received critical and audience acclaim, and a second season was officially confirmed to be in development.
James Gunn has been very busy lately, as right after finishing work on The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker Season 1 returns to Marvel Studios to finally bring the long-awaited Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 live. Gunn and company are currently hard at work in post-production on the sequel, but that hasn’t stopped him from giving fans a brief development update on Season 2 of his John Cena DCEU series.

While his current obligation to Marvel Studios with the two Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and its previous Holiday special keeps him on the job, James Gunn also has a big future in sight with the DCEU. He certainly has massive plans for Season 2 of Peacemaker, and it looks like he also has plans for Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) and at least one other DCEU project.
