Wanda, aka Scarlet Witch, has crossed lines multiple times just to be with her twins who she manifested from shifting realities. She was so obsessed with her nonexistent twins that she never hesitated to take the life of even her own friend.
One such event was M-Day in which the Red Witch was driven mad and obsessed to such an extent that she stripped the entire mutant population of her power, eventually killing most of them and leaving only a handful of X-men.
Wanda Maximoff and her twins
We all know the Scarlet Witch married Vision. Despite Vision’s contrived nature, they were nonetheless able to start a family together. Thanks to her spell skills, she was able to change the odds in her favor and have a child. Doctor Strange himself helped her give birth to twins. She had become so strong that she could apparently produce life with just a thought. After a few years without fighting the bad guys, she settled into suburban life with her husband and children.
Wanda’s joy was short-lived, however, as she later learned that her children weren’t real and had been created by Mephisto. Losing both the love of her life and her children was the last straw for her. For a while she was on the dark side with her father Magneto, but she was eventually redeemed. The fact that Harkness erased her memory of having children is a move that will come back to haunt her and everyone else.
Wanda figured out that she could use her abilities to manipulate Chaos Magic. Using her knowledge of Chaos Magic, she also resurrected the long-dead superhero Wonder Man. Wanda’s newfound ability to resurrect the deceased gave her an air of unparalleled power. She became the “All Might” of Marvel Comics.
After learning that her friends had planned behind her back to make her forget about her twins, she made a subliminal change to reality that had disastrous consequences for her crime-fighting skills, including the apparent deaths of Hawkeye and Ant- Man.
House of Malis aka Plan To Kill Wanda
While the majority of the group thinks they should keep trying to cure Wanda, some say murdering her is the best way to keep her from becoming a threat. Spider-Man sees a brilliant white light as the squads gather in Genosha to meet Wanda face to face. After that, all of Earth’s past is rewritten to suggest that our heroes eventually had happier, more successful lives. Magneto and his crew have taken over what was once the United States of America, and mutants are not only tolerated but seen as superior to normal people.
Several of the characters’ memories have been brought back thanks to a mutant name Layla, and the hero sets out to fight a war to make things the way they were. At the same time as Cyclops leads the superheroes in an assault on Genosha, Steven walks into Wanda interacting with holographic representations of his boys who aren’t actually alive.
Quicksilver, Wanda’s brother, advised her to alter reality again to ensure that her sister, their friends, and their family would all be safe from the Avengers and the X-Men.
Magneto attacked the quicksilver after knowing that it was all wrong and since Wanda holds Magneto responsible for all the bad things that happened to him, she weakened the majority of mutants in the world by announcing “No more mutants”, before restore the previous reality. Once that happened, the mutant population was nearly wiped out.
Will MCU Ever Explore House of M Storyline in Movies?
It is possible because, in 2019, the Marvel studio finally recovered the distribution rights of X-Men. And given Wanda’s onslaught in Multiverse of Madness and her endless obsession with her twins, it’s possible that MCU will one day lean towards continuing this House of Marc arc.
