1. Zak Herbstreit was born in Nashville, Tennessee. The emerging player is 6-foot-2 and weighs 243 pounds.
2. Zak is one of three brothers, twins Tye and Jake, who are his older brothers, and his younger brother, Chase. Currently, Tye is in his fourth year at Clemson as a catcher.
Jake played two seasons of football for Clemson before moving to Ohio State, where he will be a senior this fall, although he does not participate in football.
3. Zak’s parents are Allison and Kirk Herbstreit. Her father and grandfather, Jim, were captains of the Ohio State football team, and her mother was an Ohio State Buckeyes cheerleader.
Additionally, his father is ESPN’s top college football broadcaster and commentator, and he works for the network’s family of networks.
4. While at Montgomery Bell Academy, Zak played tight end and racked up four touchdown receptions in his career. At the end of the 2020 campaign, Montgomery Bell concluded the year ranked thirteenth in the state of Tennessee.
5. After practice at Ohio State, Zak had a line removed from his arm. Buckeye newcomers have a tradition of removing the tape once they’ve shown they’ve worked hard enough and fit the culture of the state of Ohio.
This stripe is attached to the scarlet stripe down the center of the Buckeye helmet. This happens when they have shown that they are a good fit for the Ohio State community.
Zak, a favorite tight end for the OSU program, received the accolade, and it seems his dad couldn’t be happier with his son’s accomplishment. Shortly after the tweet announcing the news was posted on the Ohio State Football Twitter account, Kirk wasted no time in letting the world know how happy he was with his child.
