Early life and education
Robert was raised as an only child in Ste-Marie-de-Kent, a French-Canadian village in New Brunswick, by his father who was a football coach at a local high school and his mother who was a nurse. He became interested in sports while in elementary school when he started playing football for fun, and after enrolling in a local high school, he became more serious about football and also began to struggle.
Robert was interested in becoming a professional wrestler, but still wanted to work on his education, so after graduating in 1987, he enrolled in college and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1991.
Wrestling career
Robert entered the WWF on November 11, 1991, when he fought Bob Bradley under the ring name ‘The Cajun Giant’ defeating him in a dark match, and from there worked for Super World of Sports as Giant Goliath.
He signed his first contract with the WWF in 1997 and joined the professional wrestling stable The Truth Commission, along with The Jackyl, a former wrestler who is now a professional wrestling color commentator.
They first wrestled in the US Wrestling Association (USWA), before joining the WWF where Robert became “The Interrogator”, and was known for his signature move “The Iron Claw”. When The Truth Commission broke up, Robert began to struggle on his own, while The Jackyl was his manager.
Robert then joined The Oddities stable before starting to work for Jacques Rougeau Jr, a retired Canadian professional wrestler, and on July 8, 2005 Robert wrestled in his last fight against Jim Duggan, after which he took his retirement.
Roles in television series
Robert made his first television series appearance in 2001, when he appeared in a single episode of the sci-fi series “Lexx” portraying Leroy, and in 2003 he played the role of Behemoth Jones in an episode from the Canadian comedy series “Liocracy”.

Robert also appeared in the urban fantasy film “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones”, and the French-Canadian adventure drama “The Young and Prodigious TS Spivet”.
In 2014, he played Yeti in the action film “Brick Mansions”, which starred the late actor Paul Walker and is a remake of the French film “District 13”. The same year, Robert played Executioner in Brett Ratner’s action-adventure film “Hercules”, which starred Dwayne Johnson.

Robert was introduced to his future half, Laura Eaton, at a party in 1994, and the two were an instant match as they started dating days later. She was married once before and has two daughters from that marriage who Robert is now raising as his own.
Laura and Robert agreed to adopt a girl from Ethiopia, while Laura also gave birth to their child in the 2000s.
