Dwayne Johnson has, surprisingly, shared an updated version of the latest black adam teaser following a wave of complaints from fans of Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
Johnson recently shared a black adam trailer featuring clips of the DCEU’s other heroes and villains. Among a series of clips from various DCEU films was a brief shot of an explosion caused by Steppenwolf from the 2017 version of Justice League — and Snyder Cut fans weren’t happy.
The teaser has now been reuploaded with the deleted clip, replaced with a clip that appears to be from black adam himself.
After fans of Zack Snyder’s Justice League took to Twitter to complain about the 2017 clip seen in the black adam trailer, Dwayne Johnson removed the video and replaced it with the updated version, captioning it “Corrected.”
The Justice League the clip that was used only showed a blast from the film’s opening battle, with very little sign of anything grounding it in a version of Justice League on the other. However, that was enough to irritate DC fans who think Zack Snyder’s version of the film should be considered DCEU canon.
One fan even went so far as to suggest a second of the trailer Justice League clip could be the cause of black adam to “hard flop”.
As fans of Zack Snyder’s 2021 cut Justice League ask DC and Warner Bros. Discovery to restore the “SnyderVerse,” the studio has previously suggested they won’t rely on Snyder’s version of the DCEU in future projects.
Despite the original theatrical cut of Justice League being apparently the DCEU canon, it seems that the makers of black adam I don’t want to irritate Snyder Cut fans. Interestingly, the offending clip was replaced with footage from black adam and not Zack Snyder’s Justice Leagueperhaps suggesting that DC still doesn’t want to acknowledge Snyder’s version of the film.
Here is the synopsis of black adam:
