The sixth episode of She-Hulk: Lawyer on Disney Plus just introduced an obscure Marvel character to the MCU.
The episode sees Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters preoccupied with a friend’s wedding, leaving Nikki (Ginger Gonzaga) and Mallory (Renée Elise Goldsberry) to deal with GLK&H’s latest superhuman client. The client in question is Mr. Immortal.
While the character stays true to his comic book roots, he’s unlikely to form an MCU equivalent of the Great Lakes Avengers anytime soon.
She-Hulk: Lawyer sees the MCU’s Mr. Immortal, real name Craig Hollis (David Pasquesi), come to GLK&H for help with his divorce, revealing he tends to end relationships by simply killing himself – only to resurrect moments later.
When Nikki and Mallory pester Mr. Immortal with questions, he again takes the easy way out, jumping out the window and simply driving away after he fatally hits the roof of a parked car. However, when footage of the incident and her powers hits the internet, all of her former spouses come forward to demand the compensation they are owed.
In the Marvel comics, Mr. Immortal is a founding member of the Great Lakes Avengers – a team of superheroes he forms when he decides to use his power for good, but realizes he doesn’t. cannot fight crime alone. The team has changed names several times in the comics after receiving stop-and-desist from the real Avengers, but they seem to keep reverting to the Great Lakes Avengers title.
It’s possible that a version of this team will appear at some point in the MCU, though it seems unlikely that this version of Mr. Immortal will ever be interested in crime fighting.
