Bryce Dallas Howard revealed that he was asked to lose weight during Jurassic World Dominion but was championed by director Colin Trevorrow.
Bryce Dallas Howard made his first franchise appearance in jurassic world like Claire Dearing. The sequel series’ main female lead Claire Dearing would also appear in the sequels. However, there was a lot of pressure on the actress to stay slim throughout the franchise.
According to Bryce Dallas Howard, he was asked not to use his natural body on camera. Speaking to Metro, she revealed that Universal’s superiors wanted her to lose weight for the last jurassic world film. Director Colin Trevorrow defended her and what enabled her to perform stunts throughout the film:
“What did being in this third film allow, how do I say that, how do I say that, how do I say that…[I’ve] I was asked not to use my natural body in the cinema. In the third movie, it was actually because there were so many women in the cast, it was something that Colin was very protective of me…because the conversation would come back to, “We have to ask Bryce to lose weight. [Colin] was like, ‘There are a lot of different types of women on this planet and there are a lot of different types of women in our movie.’ I had to do so many stunts that wouldn’t have been possible if I had been on a diet. I’m really happy [at] all the action I had to do, and I have to do it with my body, it was at its peak strength, and I hope that’s just another indication of what’s possible.
Despite director Bryce Dallas Howard’s defense, Jurassic World Dominion was the lowest-rated installment in the franchise and currently holds a 29% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film, however, managed to earn nearly $1 billion at the worldwide box office. Whether or not this signals a continuation of the franchise remains to be seen.
