A new documentary series called The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist has just been released on Netflix. It features in-depth exclusive interviews with Alexis Neiers (now known as Alexis Haines because she got married) and Nick Prugo. In Calabasas, California, there was a ring of convicted robbers known as “The Bling Ring”. Prugo and Neiers were two of the most prominent members of this group. They broke into the homes of a number of famous celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom, and others.
It’s a great time to revisit Sofia Coppola’s 2013 satirical crime film The Bling Ring, as the Netflix crime docuseries is now available to stream in its entirety. In the film, Emma Watson played the role of Nicolette “Nicki” Moore, a character inspired by Neiers. It was one of Emma Watson’s first major appearances after Harry Potter.
Israel Broussard, Katie Chang, Taissa Farmiga, Claire Julien, Georgia Rock and Leslie Mann are some of the other actors who have appeared in The Bling Ring. The character of Marc Hall, created by Broussard, was influenced by Prugo. The film is mentioned several times throughout the documentary series, and Neiers and Prugo offer their thoughts on particular aspects of the film and whether or not they think it accurately depicts key events.

Is The Bling Ring on Netflix?
Even though Netflix hosts the documentary series, the Sofia Coppola-directed film is not among their offerings. On the other hand, there are a few other shows that have a comparable tone to Inventing Anna, such as the reality series Bling Empire and the show that is also based on a true tale.

If you subscribe to Showtime or Paramount+, you will have access to The Bling Ring. If you subscribe to Prime Video and have the Showtime add-on, you will also have access to the film. Besides these choices, the movie can be rented or purchased from the vast majority of online merchants.

Where to Watch Lifetime’s Bling Ring Starring Austin Butler
Before Sofia Coppola’s film was released in 2013, a 2011 Lifetime film was also made about the same case (of course there was). The fact that Austin Butler appeared in this film from 2011 and that Sydney Sweeney made an appearance in it is perhaps the most shocking revelation of all.
Currently, the only way to see the movie streaming on Lifetime is to join the Lifetime Movie Club. If you have Prime Video, you can watch it there if you subscribe to the Lifetime Movie Club add-on channel on the Prime Video website. The bling ring
The Bling Ring is a 2013 satirical crime drama film written and directed by Sofia Coppola.[5]. The film stars an ensemble cast led by Katie Chang, Israel Broussard, Emma Watson, Taissa Farmiga and Claire Julien. It is based on an article written by Nancy Jo Sales for Vanity Fair in 2010 entitled “The suspects wore Louboutins”. This article was about an actual criminal organization known as the Bling Ring. The plot centers on a gang of recognition-obsessed youngsters who use the internet to find out where celebrities are hiding in order to rob their homes.
The film was produced in several countries around the world, including the United States of America, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, France, Germany, and Japan. In December 2011, Coppola began work on a screenplay inspired by the actual heist. In early 2012, the casting process took place and principal photography did not begin until March of that year in Los Angeles, California.
During the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, the film The Bling Ring had its world premiere on May 1, 2013, in the Un Certain Regard section of the festival. On June 14, 2013, it was released in select theaters by A24 in the United States, then a week later it was released in theaters across the country. The film was met with generally favorable reviews from critics; many of them praised both the cast and Coppola’s “elegant” direction; Watson, in particular, was praised for her performance. Others, on the other hand, criticized the film for the morally ambiguous stance it took on the subject.
The Bling Ring was the last film cinematographer Harris Savides worked on before he died of brain cancer during the film’s post-production process. The film is a tribute to him.
Production
Development
It was claimed in December 2011 that Sofia Coppola was working on the script for a film that would be based on the Bling Ring crimes and that she would direct and produce the film herself. Through his production company, American Zoetrope, his father, Francis Ford Coppola, served as an executive producer on the project. It was revealed in April 2012 that financial arrangements had been made with NALA Films and that Roman Coppola would also produce the film.
The group of juvenile delinquents have been called by Coppola “products of our burgeoning reality TV society”. [Coppola] A departure from Coppola’s earlier works which were geared towards the female perspective, the film features a number of female characters who are portrayed as strong and independent. She says that instead of a woman trying to find herself in a new foreign land, The Bling Ring’s story focuses on “girls who try other people’s tricks to find themselves.” This contrasts with the female perspective of the film “Lost in Translation”, which follows a woman as she searches for herself in a new country. Despite The Bling Ring exploring a more materialistic and ostentatious sense of style and culture, Coppola says the film was inspired by “just a really enjoyable experience to have in a way that’s so different from mine.” Being incredibly arrogant is a lot of fun, despite the fact that I’m more commonly identified as being subtle and having good taste.

Because of the novelty they brought to the film, Coppola decided to cast young actors who were the same age as the real children but who were relatively unknown (with the exception of Emma Watson). On February 29, 2012, Emma Watson was announced to have joined the cast of the film, and on March 1, 2012, it was rumored that Taissa Farmiga had also joined the main cast. Additionally, the casting of Leslie Mann and Israel Broussard was revealed by The Hollywood Reporter in early March. On March 16, Claire Julien became part of the ensemble, and on the same day, Katie Chang and Georgia Rock were officially cast in their respective parts. During the same month, Carlos Miranda was given a supporting role in the production. In late March, it was announced that Kirsten Dunst and Paris Hilton would appear in the film in cameo roles as themselves. The scenes with Gavin Rossdale were filmed around the same time.
Shooting
The majority of filming was done in and around the city of Los Angeles, California during the months of March and April 2012, particularly in West Hollywood, Lynwood and Venice. Paris Hilton, who was a victim of the real Bling Ring robberies, and Kirsten Dunst appeared in the film as cameos. Some of the footage was filmed at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, Calif., as well as the homes of several of the famous victims.
