The brother of Carlton co-captain Patrick and an East Fremantle striker named Josh Cripps will train at Ikon Park in hopes of making the Blues’ AFL roster for 2022.

The 19-year-old managed to impress scouts during his 12-game stint with the Sharks in 2021 after recovering from an ACL injury suffered the previous season, averaging 15.7 eliminations and 4, 2 points per game in addition to 16 goals for the season.

He played youth football for East Fremantle Football Club in the Western Australian Football League, making his senior debut in 2009 before playing six more games in 2010.
Cripps was selected by AFL side St Kilda with the 24th overall pick in the 2010 AFL Draft.
