Charlie Cox Says It’s Born Again Season 1, Not Daredevil Season 4
Charlie Cox was recently asked if Netflix daredevil is MCU canon. The actor responds to the question by saying he thinks it’s a brand new deal. He reasoned it with the title of the show, having born again. He also mentioned how Feige is talking about a season 1 rather than a season 4.
He said, “Yeah, I don’t know. But my instinct is based on the name of the show, it’s called Born Again, the fact… that Kevin [Feige] talk about it as a season 1 rather than a season 4, my feeling is that it’s a brand new deal, you know?
Earlier, during his interview with Extra TV, the actor said that Born Again was going to be a fresh start. Although he said he didn’t know anything, since he hasn’t read the script yet, the title Born Again gives the impression that it will be a new beginning.
He said referring to the show, “It’s going to be different, it’s going to be totally different. It will be new stories and new ideas.
The actor may have said Born Again would be a fresh start, but that still doesn’t confirm that Netflix daredevil will not be canon for the MCU. As there are a number of things that confirm the possibility.

Will Netflix’s Daredevil Be MCU Canon?
Earlier, another popular action legal drama character appeared in the MCU. Vincent D’Onofrio, who played Kingpin in Netflix daredevilwas seen in Hawk Eye. The actor later said that Kingpin in Hawk Eye is the same Kingpin of daredevil.
Marvel’s official site also described two characters in a way that alludes to daredevil to be an MCU canon. The character’s biography included his history from the Netflix show and ended with his last appearance on Spider-Man: No Coming Home.
The description included that Matt Murdock had been hired as an attorney to defend Peter Parker after he was charged with Mysterio’s murder. However, Marvel removed the part mentioning Murdock’s appearance in No coming home of the description later.
With the introduction of the multiverse, MCU explored the concept of variants in the Disney+ series, Loki and What if…?. And like Netflix daredevil is much more intense compared to the mainstream MCU, it is also speculated that MCU’s Matt Murdock would also be a variant, which will easily fit into the MCU’s family content.
Charlie Cox’s answer may not have cleared up the confusion, but his answer surely created more anticipation around the show. Fans still have to wait a long time to find out the answer. However, his appearance on She-Hulk can give some clues on this issue. She-Hulk is streaming on Disney+.
