Legendary star wars actor James Earl Jones did not voice Darth Vader in Obi Wan Kenobi although it is listed in the credits.
Obi Wan Kenobi has come and gone, with the focus now on Andor for star wars Fans. Leading to Kenobi, many were looking forward to the rematch between the Jedi Master and Darth Vader. While Lucasfilm has confirmed that Hayden Christensen is back, the studio reminded mom of James Earl Jones’ involvement.
James Earl Jones was eventually credited as the voice of Darth Vader in Obi Wan Kenobi, but he never worked on the series. Vanity Fair revealed that Jones signed archival recordings of Darth Vader with artificial dialogue from the Ukraine-based Respeecher, who also worked on the AI dialogue for Luke Skywalker in Boba Fett’s Book.
Work during a real war
Synthetic speech artist Bogdan Belyaev has worked on the Obi Wan Kenobi series in the midst of the Ukraine-Russia war and explained why he continued to work on the project:
“Why did I do this? It’s a great honor to work with Lucasfilm, and I’ve been a Star Wars fan since I was a kid. Even if it’s war, you have no excuse to be the troublemaker of what you’ve loved since childhood.
