Shazam! director David F. Sandberg has responded to rumors of a crossover starring Black Adam, Justice League, and The Suicide Squad.
We are about a month away from the release of black adam, in which Dwayne Johnson’s long-awaited passion project with DC Films will finally hit the big screen. Although fans have their eyes set on the upcoming release, some are already looking to the future when it comes to the character, especially when it comes to how he will inevitably face off against Shazam (Zachary Levi), the Justice League, or even the Suicide Squad. .
A rumor recently swirled around the web that Dwayne Johnson pitched DC Films a crossover featuring Black Adam, the Justice League, and the Suicide Squad. Interestingly enough, Shazam isn’t mentioned in this rumor. David F. Sandberg, director of the two films centered on the original Captain Marvel, took to Twitter to address the rumor, making an interesting point:
The next DC Extended Universe movie hitting theaters after black adam is Shazam! Fury of the gods. Considering how connected the characters are in the comics, it’s only a matter of time before we finally see them face off. While many fans are especially eager to see Superman (Henry Cavill) return, perhaps it could come down to a movie starring these two titans.
