Thor: Love and Thunder is MCU’s latest theatrical release and it’s safe to say that the film shattered all expectations. While the film was panned by both critics and audiences, according to classic MCU rule, the film will surely establish its connection with the big final picture. According to the current MCU slate, this overview is Secret Wars. A brand new theory suggests that this movie gave Thor another weapon besides his classics Mjolnir and Stormbreaker.
Avengers: Secret Wars is set to act as the final climactic ending to the ongoing MCU multiverse saga. As all current MCU endeavors are ultimately only heading in this direction, it’s theorized that Zeus’ Thunderbolt could also play a major role in Secret Wars.
What’s the newest weapon in Thor’s arsenal?
In the movie, when Thor visited Omnipotence City to seek help from Zeus, King of the Gods, he was disappointed. After that, when he and company engaged in battle against Zeus, Thor defeated him and stormed off the scene. According to a new theory, Thor could use his third weapon to turn things around during the Secret Wars.
A brand new deleted scene from the movie explains that before throwing the Thunderbolt at someone, you have to aim them correctly and specify the direction. When Russell Crowe’s Zeus threw the Thunderbolt at Thor, he caught it and pierced Zeus’ body with a quick return. Here, the theory emphasizes that Thor’s throw was far more different than Zeus’. When Thor returned the weapon, he also charged his energy into it, which amplified the effect and caused more damage.

Since now Thunderbolt belongs to Thor, he can also use it in the MCU’s future. And we also get a visual glimpse that Chris Hemsworth’s character can wield the weapon much better and more powerfully. It promises that if that happens, Thor with the Thunderbolt will undoubtedly strike fear into the minds of the villains.

What is Thor’s future in the MCU?
There is no doubt that following the receipt of love and thunder, the fifth part will now be a daunting task for the MCU. Although Hercules is set to be an antagonist in the MCU’s future, we don’t know exactly when the movie will be released. But following the mess, love and thunder made by abusing the humor and the tone of the comedy, the character needs a new second chance to mark his return.

After Taika Waititi’s character makeover in Ragnarok, many fans were disappointed when this tone was dubbed into Love and Thunder. It poses a very difficult task for the MCU to now present the character by toning down the humor and silliness. They’ll have to find a path where it doesn’t get too serious like the first two movies or too cartoonish like the last installment. Releasing the fifth episode after Secret Wars may improve the character and tone, but it’s highly unlikely the MCU will continue the God of Thunder story for that long.
