marvel is coming night werewolf TV Special promises a very interesting addition to the world of the MCU. The vintage style of the series and the different glimpses we were shown in the teaser assured us that MCU was going to go in a different direction. Although some shots in the trailer already hinted at a bloody and violent new MCU, various fans were still skeptical. That doubt has now been officially cleared by director Michael Giacchino who confirms that this TV show won’t follow the classic MCU style.

Marvel looks set to move up to R-rating
The MCU has been criticized very often for its same formula-based storyline. Fans are bored with the same repetitive storyline and lack of mature content in their projects. There’s no denying that MCU has attempted to experiment in the ongoing Phase 4 slate, but none of them have undoubtedly been able to make their mark. The greatest MCU could achieve was the horror-esque approach taken in Multiverse of Madness.

Now it looks like Marvel is changing its mind as night werewolf director Michael Giacchino praises Marvel for their support. According to him in an interview with Screenrant, the studio was very open to the changes he wanted to put in place. From bloodier executives to severed hands, they agreed to every request made by Giacchino.
“They were always very supportive and just allowed me to keep going because so many of my comments during reviews and things would be like ‘Can we put more blood on this? Can we add more? Or even when we were doing the thing, I remember a few days before we shot one of the scenes going, “Hey, what if she cut his hand off? How do we do that?” Everyone was always like, “Okay, well, let’s go.”
Michael Giacchino further added that he needed to give more credit to the studio to fully trust him.
“So I have to give them a lot of credit in that regard, that they really trusted me to do those things.”
It paints a whole new picture of the face of the studio and its ideologies compared to what we knew to date. There had been various controversies in the past due to conflicts of interest between the creators and the studio. Now if night werewolf succeeds in creating a positive reception, things could take a good turn.
