Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige has revealed that director Ryan Coogler originally wanted to tease Namor in the first Black Panther film.
Marvel fans have been waiting years for Namor to appear on the big screen in the MCU since they picked up the rights from Universal. The Submariner Will Finally Make His MCU Debut In Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverbut he almost arrived a little earlier.
Black Panther Namor almost teased
Avengers: Endgame alludes to an earthquake in the ocean near Wakanda that may have had to do with Namor. It looks like a Wakanda vs. Atlantis showdown has been in the cards for some time, and Kevin Feige recently revealed to Empire Review that Ryan Coogler launched a Namor tease for the first Black Panther film:
“Ryan had a tag pitch at the end of Black Panther. The camera would pass through the Palace of Wakanda, then we would see wet footprints leading up to the throne.

“In Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba), fight to protect their nation from world powers intervening in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and chart a new course for the kingdom of Wakanda.
Directed by Ryan Coogler from a screenplay he co-wrote with Joe Robert Cole, the film stars Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Tenoch Huerta, Martin Freeman and Angela Bassett.
