In news that will be about to break the internet in a much bigger way than Kim Kardashian ever did, Ryan Reynolds surprised everyone by announcing on his official Twitter that not only Dead Pool 3 have a cast release date, but Hugh Jackman is confirmed to reprise his role as Wolverine for one final outing! Yes, you read that right !
A long time to come
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have had a frenzied relationship over the years, constantly pranking each other and rubbing shoulders in their movies, though the latter is more Reynolds than Jackman. If you’ve seen the first two Deadpool movies, you’ll remember the jokes at Jackman’s Wolverine’s expense, whether it’s the mask-wearing in the first movie or Logan’s unsympathetic heyday statue in the second.

For a very long time Reynolds campaigned publicly for Hugh Jackman to return to the role he is best known for, but so far Jackman has been firm and resolute in his decision not to return, citing Logan as the send off. perfect. for his version of the character and his time playing him.
Fans have been on Jackman’s case as well, and luckily it seems like it worked out well. What changed Jackman’s mind is anyone’s guess, but it’s fair to say that Reynolds and Feige would have been two of the main factors, as was Feige’s guarantee that Dead Pool 3 will be rated R.

What can we expect?
Well, as of now, we don’t have any plot details for the film, and obviously filming hasn’t started yet, but if we were to hazard a guess, it won’t be a friendly couple of the two, at least not at first. For anyone who has read some of the comics, they will be well aware that Wolverine and Deadpool worked with each other and against each other. Even when on the same side, Wolverine tolerates Deadpool, rather than actively enjoying him.

This is definitely reflected in the public side of Jackman and Reynolds’ relationship, and their comedic chemistry that they share should be an easy goldmine in the film.
With Deadpool 3 coming on September 6, 2024, the multiverse saga will be in full swing, which will go a long way in explaining where Deadpool came from and how we get another Jackman’s Wolverine outing.
While it’s almost guaranteed we’ll get more of Reynolds’ Deadpool after Deadpool 3, this will likely be the last time we see Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, so we should all buckle up and enjoy what Kevin Feige has given us because it should be a doozy.
