Iron Fist’s Finn Jones Says Season 3 Would Have Featured Orson Randall

Prior to its cancellation, plans had already been made for a third season of Marvel’s Netflix series. iron fist and star Finn Jones revealed he would have introduced Orson Randall.

iron fist has generally failed to live up to the standard set by other MCU Netflix series, failing to impress many viewers in its first season. The second season was an improvement. While that may not have been enough to endear many fans of the show, its conclusion certainly left audiences more hopeful for the third season.

Sadly, that third season never materialized, and the character’s MCU future remains uncertain. However, star Finn Jones has revealed there are plans to follow up the second season’s cliffhanger ending, which teased a hunt for Orson Randall.

Although he does not appear in the first two seasons of iron fistOrson Randall’s name was mentioned in Season 2, setting up the planned third season as Finn Jones has now revealed.

In Marvel comics continuity, Orson Randall is another Immortal Iron Fist. He was born in the town of K’un-Lun, where Danny Rand won the Iron Fist, and used two handguns he charged with chi to fire “God’s lightning”. Danny Rand was seen using Randall’s signature weapons at the very end of iron fist Season 2.

In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Finn Jones revealed the direction iron fist Season 3 would have taken:

“And the second season was really about course correction. It was like, how can we just change the course and the conversation around this show, and just bring it to a place that we can be proud of. And then we can take the show in the direction we really want to take it.

“Raven mostly wanted to see Danny and Ward go off to some distant lands to fight crime and have the guns and the Orson Randall and that kind of character. And then Colleen would be in New York with the Iron Fist, sort of to accepting that responsibility. And then eventually, over this season, I think, they would come together and become whole.

In addition to introducing Orson Randall, it looks like Season 3 would have explored more of the new life of Jessica Henwick’s Colleen Wing, who gained the powers of the Iron Fist in Season 2. Marvel revealed Netflix daredevil gets a Disney Plus revival in the form of Daredevil: Born Againso maybe there’s still hope for Iron Fist’s return and Orson Randall’s MCU debut.
