What good news for fans of Hugh Jackman Wolverine as the iconic X-Men character returns to the big screen in Dead Pool 3! Ryan Reynolds announced the happy news on Twitter and said the film will be released in September 2024.
It took a long time for Deadpool and Wolverine to finally work together in one frame. This collaboration has been teased several times in the past, notably at the end of the second part of dead Pool. Reynolds first appeared as Deadpool in 2009 X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which embarrassingly didn’t do the character justice. Logan director James Mangold posted a highly controversial post on Twitter showing Wolverine’s tragic death in Logan. This drew reactions from fans, with some responding under the post with: “You’re not the last word on Wolverine” and “anything is possible in the multiverse!» among others. Now many are speculating: if Wolverine is dead at the end of Loganwill be Dead Pool 3 use a Wolverine multiverse? Or will the movie take place some time before Logan has been freed?
If the producers choose to go with the Wolverine multiverse, its tragic end in Logan will remain its canon story. The final scene in Logan saw Wolverine battle a much stronger X-24 to save Laura and other mutants.
