Harrison Ford To Replace William Hurt As Thaddeus Ross

A new rumor indicates that Harrison Ford is or was Marvel’s first choice to replace William Hurt as Thaddeus Ross.

William Hurt made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the 2008 film, The Incredible Hulk. He would then be largely absent from the Marvel Cinematic Universe until his return in Captain America: Civil War and made minor appearances in Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgameand Black Widow. The actor passed away in March, and it was unclear whether Marvel intended to shelve the character or recast him. Now it looks like the studio is opting for the latter of the two.

According to The Hot Mic Podcast, Marvel Studios is looking to recast William Hurt’s Thaddeus Ross. According to the podcast, the studio’s first choice for the role is none other than star wars and IndianaJones starring Harrison Ford. While insiders deny he was cast, other sources have reportedly confirmed that the actor is or was the studio’s top pick. Additionally, The Hot Mic also claims that an announcement was originally scheduled to be made at D23, but Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy wanted all of Harrison Ford’s spotlight to be focused on his role in upcoming Indiana Jones movies.
