It’s no secret that Hugh Jackman underwent severe training to become the clawed superhero Wolverine. The X-Men franchise actor will now reprise the role after declaring his breakthrough exit after Logan (2017). Although the world shares the news and revels in the joy of seeing the hero in action once again (and perhaps one last time), an important question bears asking despite the good news. Can the 53-year-old actor really fit into the Wolverine-worthy form that once defined and immortalized him?

Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine Diet Deconstructed
It’s been reported that the actor followed a handful of trainers and very specific exercise routines paired with diet plans to achieve that perfectly balanced, ripped look. The specifications of such a diet chart are not only incomprehensible but require a monumental willingness to go all the way for years. And of common knowledge, Hugh Jackman had to do it for 17 years.

According to a report by David Kingsbury, Hugh Jackman’s fitness expert, Jackman’s meal was broken down into 4 meals a day comprising a perfectly balanced equation that served mostly protein and superfoods. Carbohydrates were only allowed on weight training days so that the intake was canceled at the end of the day. Additionally, Jackman’s diet included a literally calculated intake of calories and macronutrients.
Her breakfast included a portion of oatmeal and eggs. Lunch would include lean meats, brown rice, spinach, broccoli, and a rotation of fish or poultry. His third meal included superfoods like avocado and the rest of his daily intake would come down to creatine supplements, animal nitro and liquid carnitine.

A look at Hugh Jackman’s workout plan
Every workout can be categorized into three different terminologies: sets, reps, and progressive overload. While those working towards a more strength-based program focus on increasing the intensity of their reps, others looking to build muscle do several sets of different workout routines. Progressive overload is what ties the two together and helps gain muscle strength or weight more optimally over time. Hugh Jackman’s trainer focused on a more progressive overload exercise routine where he consistently increased the number of weights lifted per set while changing the routine in the following weeks by increasing the number of reps per set.
