Marvel Phase 4 introduced Kang the Conqueror to the MCU via Loki Season 1. He will also appear as the main villain in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Kang is set to be the big bad throughout Phases 5 and 6 of the MCU. It has multiple variants across the multiverse and had single-handedly created the TVA or Time Variance Authority. One of these variants was killed by Sylvie in the last episode of Loki. Similarly, another variation of Kang known as Rama-Tut of Ancient Egypt would appear in the MCU as part of the Fantastic Four Project.
The upcoming Fantastic Four project has caused quite a stir among fans. In fact, they theorized about the cast of actors and the director who has now been confirmed to be WandaVision director Matt Shakman. Initially, the villain of the Fantastic Four movie was supposed to be Doctor Doom. However, lately there have been rumors claiming that the Rama-Tut a Kang variant will be the main villain.
Is Rama-Tut the villain of the Fantastic Four project?
Rama-Tut is a variation of Kang who has been a constant enemy of the Fantastic Four and is considered one of their fiercest foes. Considering how the MCU is trying to make Kang the Conqueror a major villain, it could be plausible that he’s the main villain of the next Fantastic Four project. This idea would also explore the concept of the multiverse and its variants. Additionally, Rama-Tut is considered the most dangerous villain of the Fantastic Four. And the MCU has already hinted that Kang and his variants will play a big role even before Avengers: Kang Dynasty.
Who is Rama-Tut, the variant of Kang The Conqueror?
Rama-Tut was born as Nathaniel Richards, a distant descendant of none other than Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic in the 30th century. Initially, this character started out as a hero. After being visited by his other self, Kang the Conqueror, he decided to change the course of his destiny and refused to become the villain he was meant to be. And that’s when he adopted the identity of Iron Lad. However, for obvious reasons, he returned to his original path and started life as a supervillain. It was then that he was intrigued by the Fantastic Four and decided to become their nemesis. Eventually he used a time machine created by himself to transport himself to ancient Egypt where he became Emperor Rama-Tut. He took over the whole kingdom. He even disguised the time machine as a sphinx to blend in.
While in Egypt, he became something of a figure of God to the people. People erected statues of him and worshiped Rama-Tut. They even rejected the old gods under his command. This is how Rama-Tut locked horns with the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. The same Khonshu who owns Moon Knight and makes him do whatever he wants. Rama-Tut even faced the Avengers who were helping Khonshu oust him from Egypt. Eventually, he encountered the Fantastic Four who had traveled back in time to obtain a special radioactive herb. He enslaved the Fantastic Four, which turned out to be his undoing. With Khonshu’s help, the Fantastic Four and Doctor Strange in his astral form were able to defeat Rama-Tut.
What are his powers?
His powers are obviously similar to Kang’s. He somehow managed to slow down his aging process to the point where he barely aged. Rama-Tut being from the future had access to many advanced weapons such as missile launchers and time travel ships. He was also extremely intelligent and skilled in hand-to-hand combat. However, he was significantly less experienced and refined than the other Kangs. While this made him reckless and even more dangerous, it also gave the heroes the chance to defeat him and use his recklessness to their advantage.
