She-Hulk Episode 8 is out now on Disney+. Fans claimed it was the best episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. The episode had a lot of action, humor, flirting, breaking the fourth wall, and even a nice ending twist. Even better, we see Charlie Cox return to the MCU as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil. The addition of Exceed also was hilarious. So here is the good and the bad of episode 8 of She-Hulk.
She-Hulk Gets Her Comic-Accurate Super Costume
In the episode, She-Hulk is seen going to Leap-Frog’s rescue after an unnamed assailant attacks him and jumps out of his car. The attacker turns out to be Daredevil who is actually trying to save Luke Jacobson from Leap-Frog. This is when She-Hulk temporarily battles Daredevil and is seen wearing her pinpoint purple costume. It’s something fans have been waiting to see. The costume also seems to have the ability to shrink down to Jen’s size.
All About Daredevil Appearance
Daredevil’s appearance in She-Hulk was near perfect. The episode captured his brooding and dark nature while maintaining a fun charm. They included the iconic Daredevil Billy Club, played his Netflix theme in the background and talked about Hell’s Kitchen. The fight scenes involving him were also very good. Daredevil seems to have become even faster and more agile.
Matt Murdock and Jen Walters
It was definitely the highlight of the episode. The chemistry between Tatiana Maslany and Charlie Cox was off the charts. They played each other perfectly. The flirtatious jokes and teasing were perfectly in line with the tone of the show. Fans too are extremely excited and wondering what the future holds. My favorite moment was when Matt inspired Jen to do more with her powers and be a superhero in order to help those who have been rejected by the law.
The ending just gave She-Hulk so much more depth
She-Hulk has been a pretty one-dimensional character. It was until her retirement with Emil Blonsky where she finally accepted herself. But the side of She-Hulk that we see in episode 8 gives her character a lot more complexity and layers. She turns out to be fallible and gives in to her anger. For the first time, she realizes how Bruce must have felt perceived as a monster all these years. After all, what happened during the gala had to affect him. This makes the season finale even more interesting and exciting.
The MCU finally addresses the Sokovia Accords
Fans are wondering what happened to the Sokovia Accords since Endgame and the blip. The MCU had never officially addressed the issue. However, in episode 8 of She-Hulk, during Leap-Frog’s legal proceedings against Luke Jacobson, Matt Murdock says that the Sokovia Accords have been abrogated. It will be interesting to see if no more such treaties are introduced in the MCU in the future.
All in all, there’s not much we can criticize about She-Hulk Episode 8. The entire episode had good pacing, finally some fighting, and another wacky superhero in the form of Leap-Frog. Leap-Frog was absolutely hilarious and so stupid. But he definitely should have broken his legs or suffered worse injuries after his first fall.
