From making claims about a potential Superman vs. Black Adam storyline to attesting to how Cavill’s portrayal of the ever-iconic superhero makes up the definitive Superman of the current generation, Johnson has worked diligently to build and maintain fan anticipation.
Curiosity and excitement continued to haunt everyone for days and nights, as many feared they would be disappointed once again.

Fans can now rest easy. According to a Twitter scooper, Henry Cavill is back in the DCEU – all thanks to Black Adam. He would also have shaken a “classic suit” while the legendary Superman theme composed by John Williams plays in the background. As previous rumors claim, the scene most likely takes place in a post-credits sequence. Additionally, Superman allegedly confronted Black Adam and said the following:
“We need to talk, Black Adam.”
When this information is combined with what previous speculation has hinted at, we could indeed see both Amanda Waller, who is said to have significant affiliations with the Justice League, and Superman, who could receive the “when-all-hope- is a lost trump card treatment in the film’s post-credits sequence, creating a path for many exciting future possibilities.
Fan Reception for Henry Cavill’s Superman Return
The fans are delighted. To say they prayed for such an outcome would be to sell it short. Their love and admiration for Henry Cavill’s Superman iteration knows no bounds. However, what seems to have upset several people is that the superhero’s return is not accompanied by the iconic Hans Zimmer. Steel man score. Some Zack Snyder loyalists believe the use of the John Williams theme for Cavill’s version of the DC character doesn’t seem appropriate.
To many, it seems the essence of Snyder’s vision of the superhero is being washed away. At the same time, in a line, others highlight the director’s initial intentions of wanting to take up John Williams’ theme in Steel man. This wish of Snyder, according to the 2013 film’s screenwriter, Jay Oliva, was declined by Warner Bros.

That’s not quite true, John Williams’ score would slap Cavill’s interpretation. Zack wanted to use it initially and WB said no. But I think Cavill also wants to use it going forward. Zimmer’s score will always be Zack’s score.

While there’s been no official confirmation from director Jaume Collet-Serra or Henry Cavill, previous statements from lead actor Dwayne Johnson may have alluded to such a particular moment in the film. With such reports making the rounds on the internet, the concept of a cameo doesn’t seem too far-fetched.
Many fans continue to struggle to accept the authenticity of these reports and leaks. Luckily for them, the wait is coming to an end. The questions that have been troubling the thoughts of thousands of fans will soon be answered – hopefully in a satisfying way.
